Furniture

Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah hallelujah!!!! We just got rid of our last Tupperware furniture!!! I found a pair of really nice nightstands. This means no more Tupperware nightstands!!! I really need to say this again, Hallelujah!!!!! When we moved here to Washington, we had ZERO, count it out (it won't take long), zero pieces of furniture!! We luckily had camping chairs and Tupperware coffee tables in our living room. Jonathan and I slept on an air mattress (which if anyone has done that for more than like 2 days, it can make you cranky, okay it can make me cranky) with Tupperware Nightstands and Tupperware TV stand, the boys slept in tents and in sleeping bags in their room and you guessed it, a Tupperware toy box. Caleb slept in his playpen and had a changing table using four Tupperwares, I just put the changing pad on it. The last room, the kitchen started out with a Tupperware table and one boy sat on a little stool and the other on the ice chest. Jonathan and I ate in the fancy living room. We were living high style. Oh and our laundry room, it was down the road a ways at a Laundromat. Lol.
We have slowly, but surely pieced our house together, one item at a time. It has been kinda fun hunting for the perfect couch, kitchen table, bunk beds, crib, etc. We as a family have shopped many weekends til we dropped just knowing if we go to one more store, it might be there.
Oh how far we have come. We still have a few more items of furniture we need to buy, but none that we can't live without for a little while (like a headboard and a dresser in our room, etc).
When you start with nothing, you seem to be thankful for anything. Jonathan and I have vowed to each other (of course to love each other til death do us part) and to never ever sell everything we own. What kinda crazy idea was that? Nuts I say!!!!
At the time, it sounded like a crazy idea, basically because it was. But, it worked out perfectly for what was to come! There is no way we would've had the cash flow to move, and the house Jonathan and I bought when we were both 20 years old (note to self: if I'm ever 20 again, don't buy a house until you turn at least 25, I've heard the logical and reasoning part of your brain isn't developed until then, I heard it on Dr. Phil, which means it has to be true, right?!) the house would've definitely stopped us from having any money to move (houses, especially with a pool can be very expensive, but we were trying to live the American dream instead of living in reality). It was a hard lesson to learn, but life moves on and so did we, literally, we moved.
All that to say, Hallelujah!!! Tupperware free is the way to be!!!
Here's a little before and after picture!!

Grocery Shopping:)

I'm not a huge fan of grocery shopping, but of course I do it anyway (we gotta eat). I usually go once every two weeks, right after we get paid and by this time we are just scraping for the last "good" things to eat. I will also at one point, go for a mini-shopping trip. At this time I'll get all of the things I, oops, forgot, or ran out of, or expired within that time, and I'll usually get some fresh fruit too!
90% of the time I go, I bring all 3 kiddos.

It's always an adventure. I always enjoy the comments I get. When people see Nathan and Clayton hanging off the side of the cart, one on each side, and then a baby in a car seat and just here recently he's started riding sitting like a big boy. People say things like,
"3 boys huh?",
"I bet your house is crazy",
"Bless your heart",
"You've sure got your hands full",
"I bet there's never a dull moment", and one of my personal favorites is, "They sure are cute".
I love when people comment on how well behaved they are too, especially when they notice how FULL the cart is, which means, we've been here a while! It's very encouraging and nice when people notice. The boys also deserve to be noticed, cause it can be really hard to be good(especially when I'm having an off day and have to go down some of the same aisles over and over again). I'm not trying to brag (too much), but I'm really proud of the way all 3 of them act and listen to me. They make my life super easy that way, so no complaints.
On a side note, I am getting pretty excited about heading to Texas in 30 days from today for Christmas!! The boys get to fly on their very first plane, which is kinda exciting, for all of us! I can't wait to see all of my family (when I say family, that always includes my In-laws) and some friends too.
I do have to admit though, I'm a little sad about going too. Unfortunately, Jonathan doesn't get to come with us. For the most part, we haven't been apart from each other for more than like 2 days. We're kinda like a PB&J, we just belong together. He's like bread and I'm the butter. He's like a washing machine and I'm the dryer. He's like shampoo and I'm the conditioner. He's like a booger and I am the nose. He's like an armpit and I'm the deodorant. Do I really need to continue? I think you get what I'm saying here! lol. It stinks even more because at Christmas, it just feels like you should have everyone you love around you! We should be drinking hot chocolate, eating popcorn, snuggled up on the couch watching all the "Santa Claus" movies. Life will go on, but I can be sad anyways. What stinks even more is not for me, but Jonathan. He will be all alone, at least I'll be surrounded by people, while he chills at home by himself, it's kinda a bummer!
I guess I'll wrap up until we meet again! Happy Trails!

Jon-Jon

In case you couldn't tell, I got the Blogger on my phone to work and posted a blog that I wrote about 2 weeks ago. I didn' t think it would work, but it did! Hooray!!
Today, Jonathan turned the big 2-8!! Yikes!! So close to 30. When you're twenty, thirty seems WAY far in the future. His Mom sent him a package with his baby book and a binder full of pictures and awards and newspaper clippings. She also sent a couple if his football jerseys. It is so cute to see little Jon-Jon. He looks so much like the boys do. I love all the little birthday party pictures and school pictures.
It has made me think I really need to get in gear and put the boys books together. This digital age is hindering my craft. Used to, you would take 24 pictures, and choose very carefully what you wanted to take a pic of, develop it (hoping no one had eyes closed or red eye) and you would have your 2 prints of each picture in hand. It is so easy to pick from 24 pictures which one (if not all) you want to put in an album, etc. Problem now is, I have too many dadgum pictures and it is so overwhelming!! You can take 10 pictures of the same shot (and they all turn out pretty good). It's just frustrating going to the kiosk and picking from the 1,800 pictures in my phone that I've taken just in the last 7 months. Yes, that is just on my phone, I have many, many, many more on my actual digital camera. MY NAME IS SARAH, AND I HAVE A PROBLEM. Well, here's to hopeful thinking. I gotta just do it, before they have kids of their own (there I have a deadline).
That's all for now, until next time....

Simplicity

I love the simplicity of my life now!! There's not too much hustle and bustle. I don't get stressed out or crazy over many things. I love how we'll decide to just take a walk, go to a park, go thrift store shopping, or take a hike (in the nice way, of course). Life is too short to not enjoy it.
Now, don't get me wrong, there have been quite a few stressful years since we've been married. Well, hmmmm......thinking about it......maybe all of them!! Jonathan and I have had a lot of crazy experiences and done some wacky things, and we've enjoyed "most" of them.
I'm not sure if it's just growing up and maturing, but lately I have really "stopped to smell the roses". I really want to just enjoy the little moments I have while the boys are young. I don't wanna look back and remember how busy we were (that's kinda how some years have felt).
The future at times, really scares me. I have the absolutely most adorable, sweetest, and cutest little boys that anyone has ever seen (yes, I'm partial, but also factual), and one day they are gonna grow up. Duh!! What I mean is, there will come a day when they are not going to want to hang out with me, cuddle with me, or tell me everything on their mind. There will come a day when I will no longer be able to pick them up. I know that it's life, and it's going to happen, but if I could stall it for a few years, I might.
With all that said, here are some "rose smelling" times
We did a little pumpkin carving (mostly Jonathan and I) but the boys sure did great getting all of the pumpkin seeds out. I actually baked the pumpkin seeds too, for the first time in my life! They turned out really good.

We also made some rice krispie treats. Nathan and Clayton helped measure out all the ingredients and stirred everything together. Clayton, at one point, accidentally flicked a spoon full on me and they enjoyed picking the sticky mess off of my shirt.
We went to the park today, it was quite breezy out. Caleb took a turn in the swing and was giggling a little when Nathan was pushing him. It was really sweet.
That's all for now...

Hey

I am fully aware that I have not blogged in a while. Due to some technical difficulties regarding our computer and my phone blogger app I haven't been able to blog. I am currently at the library with Caleb on my lap (making it difficult to type). We are doing awesome!!
We just enjoyed a busy October month, full of pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, camping (in the rain and sun), all 5 of us getting sick (YUCK!!), Jonthan has put in his 6 months at work and is off probation, Clayton went on his first field trip, we made rice crispies, Nathan is beginning to read signs on the road (which is crazy to me), Caleb took his first ride in a swing, and we have taken quite a few walks around the neighborhood. It has been an eventful month! I hope to get some way of communicating on here soon, because the library isn't that great (and you can't post pics). Much love to all of you!
